Guides and collections

Finding a few promising providers is the easy part. The hard part is what comes next: holding four profiles in your head, comparing them from memory, and explaining your options to the person helping you decide. Collections exist so you never have to do that from twenty open tabs again.

Two kinds of lists, two different jobs

Collections are yours. Providers you've saved, grouped however makes sense for your search: "Anxiety, covered by my insurance", "For mom", "Couples therapy shortlist". They live on your favourites page and are private until you decide otherwise.

Guides are ours. On the guides page, we curate lists of trusted professionals by topic, often together with community organizations that know their people best. When you don't want to start from a blank search box, start from a guide.

It starts with a save

See someone promising? Hit Save on their search card, or Favourite on their profile (you'll need a free account, and that's all you need). The save happens instantly, and everything you save lands in your favourites, so you can never lose someone good.

Right after saving, we'll offer to file the provider into a collection, or you can skip it and just keep browsing. Sorting can always wait for later; finding the right person can't.

Build the shortlist

When you're ready to get organized, New Collection on your favourites page takes a name, an optional description, and an optional cover. Name collections after the decision you're making, not the app feature: "Evaluations for Léo" beats "List 2".

A provider can live in as many collections as you like, and a collection page is built for actually deciding: filter within it, see everyone on the map at once, and keep prices and availability side by side instead of in separate tabs.

The workflow we see working over and over: save every maybe, shortlist 3 to 5 into a collection, compare there, then message your top 2 or 3. Messaging providers takes it from there.

Choosing a therapist is rarely a solo decision. There's a partner weighing in, a parent paying, a friend who's been through it. Open your collection, hit Share Collection, turn on Enable sharing, and copy the link. Whoever you send it to sees the providers, your collection's name and description, and nothing else; they don't need an account, and your other collections and favourites stay completely private.

Change your mind anytime: turn sharing off and the link goes dark. Turn it back on later and the same link works again.

Shared collections aren't listed anywhere public and we tell search engines to ignore them. The one exception is a collection featured in a published Promptd guide, which is public in the full sense.

Made a list for someone else?

The same link works when the list isn't for you: a parent building options for their teen, a friend helping a friend, a professional referring a client. Build the collection around their situation, send the link, done. There's even a print view with a scannable code for when a piece of paper is the right way to hand it over.

Tidying up

Edit a collection to rename it or change its description and cover. Remove from this collection takes a provider out of one collection while keeping them in your favourites and everywhere else. Deleting a whole collection never deletes the providers in it.

One rule worth knowing before a big cleanup: removing a provider from your favourites removes them from every collection they're in, and we'll warn you before it happens.

FAQ

Can providers see that I saved them?

No. Saving is completely private. The only lists a provider's page ever shows are public collections featured in published guides, never yours.

No. The link opens for anyone, on any device, no login.

Yes, anytime. Turn off Enable sharing and the link stops working; turn it back on and the same link is live again.

Can my collection become part of a guide?

Guides are curated by us, often with community partners. If you're an organization and want to build one together, every guide page has a Create a guide with us block; we read everything that comes through it.
