About

Erika provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for individuals of all ages, and offers cognitive interventions and psychotherapy to adults with cognitive, behavioral, and/or socio-emotional difficulties.

How I work

Erika’s approach is integrative, tailoring evidence-based methods to each individual’s needs and drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, process-oriented work, and mindfulness-based techniques. She works collaboratively and at a pace that respects each client’s readiness and goals. Erika offers comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive disorders. She also assesses cognitive sequela of neurological conditions (e.g., traumatic brain injury, stroke, long COVID). In addition, she conducts psychoeducational testing (e.g., school derogations) and cognitive profile assessments for those seeking to better understand their strengths and weaknesses, including evaluations for giftedness.

What does a typical neuropsychological assessment look like?

A neuropsychological assessment takes place over several appointments, typically totaling 12-14 hours. It begins with a one-hour interview to review concerns and history, to determine if an assessment is necessary. The assessment involves the administration of tests (~two in-person sessions), about a few hours at a time. Results are interpreted and compiled into a detailed report. The process concludes with a feedback session to review findings, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations.

Required: Pre-session documentation

Very little is required before your session. The main step is reviewing and signing a consent form, but this can also be done at the beginning of your appointment if you have any questions or would like Erika to go through it with you. Her goal is to make the process as clear and comfortable as possible.
