About Promptd

In 2025, a therapist and a software engineer set out to raise the bar for mental health marketplaces

We looked at how people search for mental health services and thought: this could be so much better.

We bring tech to mental health so that finding the right provider feels as intuitive and personal as the experience you get on your favourite apps. Today, we represent clinics and independent mental health professionals across Montreal and its surrounding cities, in-person and online.

And we're just getting started.

What our users say

Spent close to two years trying to find a therapist. Waitlists, no callbacks, people who weren't the right fit. Ended up finding someone through Promptd in like a week.

Nadia

I run a small law firm and needed a family mediator for a case. I did not find anyone in my network so I tried Promptd and found someone pretty quickly.

Catherine

Nice to actually see prices listed upfront. Saves you from having to call around just to figure out what you can afford.

Jordan

The messaging suggested a few other therapists I could reach out to. My first pick didn't end up working out, but one of the suggestions was actually a great fit.

Samira

I'm an international student at McGill and figuring out what my insurance covers was confusing. On here I could just filter for who takes my plan.

Léo

The filters are really useful. I found someone who speaks my language, is nearby, and takes my insurance without having to dig through a bunch of websites.

Your questions, answered

What is a learning assessment?

A learning assessment examines reading, writing, math, attention, memory, and processing to clarify why school is hard and how to help. Results differentiate specific learning disorders from attention or mood factors and highlight strengths to build on. Child therapists and Teen therapists may provide ongoing support, while Psychoeducational assessment offers comprehensive evaluation.

Which tests are used in learning assessment?

Standardized measures of achievement, cognition, and processing are combined with history, observations, and rating scales. The selection reflects age, language, and curriculum to ensure recommendations are relevant and practical.

How long does a learning assessment take?

Most assessments involve several hours of testing plus time for scoring, interpretation, and feedback. Your clinician will provide a schedule and explain deliverables and timelines at intake.

What supports follow learning assessment?

Reports can support individual education plans and accommodations. Recommendations include classroom strategies, skill-building plans, and tools for home practice to reinforce progress.

Should I do a learning assessment, psychoeducational assessment, or ADHD assessment?

If the main concern is academic skill gaps (reading, writing, math), a learning assessment may be enough. If you also need a full cognitive and processing profile for accommodations, Psychoeducational assessment can be a better fit. If attention, impulsivity, or executive-functioning concerns are central, consider ADHD assessments or a combined plan.

Can autism affect learning and school performance?

Sometimes learning challenges relate to language, sensory regulation, or social-communication differences rather than a specific learning disorder. If those factors are prominent (or suspected), an Autism assessment can clarify the broader profile so recommendations match day-to-day needs.

How do I start a learning assessment?

A consult clarifies history, concerns, and priorities, then outlines tools, timelines, and costs. You will get a list of records to bring and what to expect on testing day.

Can anxiety or low mood affect learning and school performance?

Yes. Anxiety, stress, and depression can reduce concentration, memory, and processing efficiency, which may look like learning difficulties. A learning assessment helps separate skill-based gaps from emotional or attention factors. If worry is a major driver, Anxiety therapists is a good starting point, and CBT therapy can help with evidence-based strategies to manage anxious thinking and improve coping.
