About Promptd

In 2025, a therapist and a software engineer set out to raise the bar for mental health marketplaces

We looked at how people search for mental health services and thought: this could be so much better.

We bring tech to mental health so that finding the right provider feels as intuitive and personal as the experience you get on your favourite apps. Today, we represent clinics and independent mental health professionals across Montreal and its surrounding cities, in-person and online.

And we're just getting started.

What our users say

Spent close to two years trying to find a therapist. Waitlists, no callbacks, people who weren't the right fit. Ended up finding someone through Promptd in like a week.

Nadia

I run a small law firm and needed a family mediator for a case. I did not find anyone in my network so I tried Promptd and found someone pretty quickly.

Catherine

Nice to actually see prices listed upfront. Saves you from having to call around just to figure out what you can afford.

Jordan

The messaging suggested a few other therapists I could reach out to. My first pick didn't end up working out, but one of the suggestions was actually a great fit.

Samira

I'm an international student at McGill and figuring out what my insurance covers was confusing. On here I could just filter for who takes my plan.

Léo

The filters are really useful. I found someone who speaks my language, is nearby, and takes my insurance without having to dig through a bunch of websites.

Your questions, answered

What is anxiety therapy?

Anxiety therapy teaches skills to reduce worry and avoidance while rebuilding flexibility and confidence. Care combines psychoeducation, exposure planning, and coping strategies tailored to your life. CBT therapy is often the foundation for anxiety treatment, and OCD therapists may provide specialized support when intrusive thoughts and compulsions are involved.

Which techniques are used?

CBT, exposure and response prevention, mindfulness, and breathing practices are common. Plans track triggers and progress with simple measures so change is clear. Many providers can deliver these tools via Online therapy care when privacy and setup are in place.

How long does it take?

Many notice improvements in 6–12 weeks with consistent practice. Later sessions consolidate gains and prepare for setbacks.

What about panic?

Therapy addresses fear of sensations with interoceptive exposure and cognitive tools. You will practice small, safe experiments to build tolerance and reduce avoidance. If panic is connected to trauma triggers, Trauma and PTSD therapists support may also be relevant.

How do I start?

A consult clarifies goals and preferences, then sets a plan with early actions and follow-ups at a realistic cadence.

What is anxiety counselling?

Anxiety counselling teaches practical skills to reduce worry, avoidance, and physical symptoms while rebuilding confidence. You set clear targets and learn stepwise methods to approach fears safely.

Which techniques are used for anxiety?

Common tools include CBT therapy, exposure-based practice, mindfulness, and breathing skills. When worry is fueled by rigid rules or rumination, ACT therapy can help you relate differently to anxious thoughts while still moving toward your goals.

How long does anxiety counselling take?

Many people notice improvements within 6–12 weeks with consistent practice. Early goals target daily functioning; later work consolidates gains and prepares for setbacks.

Can counselling help with panic attacks?

Yes. Counselling addresses fear of sensations with interoceptive exposure, breathing strategies, and cognitive tools. If mood drops due to avoidance, Depression counselling support can be helpful, and if panic is mixed with intense emotion swings, DBT therapy skills may be added.

How do I start anxiety counselling?

A consult clarifies goals, history, and preferences, then creates a first-month plan with 1–2 immediate actions to reduce worry quickly.

Should I look for an anxiety specialist for anxiety counselling?

If anxiety is persistent, causes avoidance, or includes panic, phobias, or intrusive thoughts, a specialist can help you progress faster. Start with Anxiety therapists. If the main issue is obsessions and compulsions, OCD therapist may be a better match.
