I am a licensed psychotherapist; practicing CBT therapy for over 16 years. I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues. My masters and doctorate training included extensive study of brain neurochemistry.

How I work

I offer a personalized approach to therapy, tailored to each person's individual needs. I use many therapeutic models: cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, solution-oriented and psychodynamic, to list a few. In my 16 years of practice I have helped many clients to gain greater clarity into past and present feelings, thoughts, and behaviors; helped them discover tools toward immediate and long-lasting change and a greater understanding of the self.

My style is client-centered, interactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented. I work with CBT, DBT, short-term psychodynamic, and several other approaches.

What does a typical session look like?

In a typical session, we talk about the client's week, and problems encountered (keeping in mind client's stated goals of therapy). We process emotions that came up, then we either practice a skill learned in previous sessions or learn a new skill that targets that particular problem. At the end of session, there is usually a homework given to apply for the following week, to practice working on the problem discussed in the session. That homework is always attended to first at next session
