About Promptd

In 2025, a therapist and a software engineer set out to raise the bar for mental health marketplaces

We looked at how people search for mental health services and thought: this could be so much better.

We bring tech to mental health so that finding the right provider feels as intuitive and personal as the experience you get on your favourite apps. Today, we represent clinics and independent mental health professionals across Montreal and its surrounding cities, in-person and online.

And we're just getting started.

What our users say

Spent close to two years trying to find a therapist. Waitlists, no callbacks, people who weren't the right fit. Ended up finding someone through Promptd in like a week.

Nadia

I run a small law firm and needed a family mediator for a case. I did not find anyone in my network so I tried Promptd and found someone pretty quickly.

Catherine

Nice to actually see prices listed upfront. Saves you from having to call around just to figure out what you can afford.

Jordan

The messaging suggested a few other therapists I could reach out to. My first pick didn't end up working out, but one of the suggestions was actually a great fit.

Samira

I'm an international student at McGill and figuring out what my insurance covers was confusing. On here I could just filter for who takes my plan.

Léo

The filters are really useful. I found someone who speaks my language, is nearby, and takes my insurance without having to dig through a bunch of websites.

Your questions, answered

What is relationship counselling?

Relationship counselling strengthens communication, reduces escalation, and repairs trust through structured conversations and practice between sessions. Plans address intimacy, stress, and decision-making. Premarital counselling and pre relationship counseling can prepare couples for new commitments and shared routines.

How does relationship counselling work?

Therapists use structured methods (e.g., EFT or Gottman-informed) to help partners notice cycles, share clearly, and create repair maps. Goals are balanced and progress is reviewed regularly. Couples therapy can be a good fit for many partners, and Relationship counselling provides specialized support for married couples.

How often should we attend?

Weekly is common early to build momentum, then tapering as skills consolidate. Cadence adapts to stress, caregiving, and budget with brief check-ins to maintain gains.

Can counselling help after betrayal?

Counselling can help after betrayal by focusing on safety, accountability, and structured repair. If betrayal connects to earlier trauma triggers, Trauma & PTSD therapists can be helpful alongside relationship work. Co-parenting plans can develop in parallel to protect stability for children while adults heal.

What type of therapist should I choose for relationship counselling?

If you want structured couples work, start with Couples therapists. If the main issue is intimacy, desire, or sexual concerns, Sex therapists can be a better match.

What is marriage counselling?

Marriage counselling helps partners realign around values, roles, and connection. Work includes skills for repair, boundaries, and shared decision-making. Infidelity counselling may be included when trust has been injured, and co-parenting plans support stability for children while adults heal. Relationship counselling can be a broader fit for dating or non-married partners.

How does marriage counselling work?

Therapists use structured approaches to slow patterns and make conversations safer. You will practice new moves in session and at home, with progress measured by reduced escalation and improved repair. Couples therapy therapy is often the umbrella category for this kind of work.

How often should we attend marriage counselling?

Weekly or biweekly at first is common, then tapering to maintenance. Brief intensives can help during transitions. Cadence and boundaries protect fairness and safety.

Can counselling help after betrayal in marriage?

Yes. The process centers on safety, accountability, and structured repair. If betrayal triggers past trauma responses (shutdown, panic, hypervigilance), Trauma & PTSD therapists-informed work can support stabilization alongside couples sessions.

How do we start marriage counselling?

A consult sets goals, roles, and ground rules, then provides first-week practices and a one-month plan with a realistic schedule.

Do I need a couples specialist for marriage counselling?

Marriage counselling is often most effective with a therapist trained in relationship systems and evidence-based couples methods. Start with Couples therapists. If family-of-origin or parenting patterns are central, Family therapists can also help.
